In early May, artist, astronomer, and night sky ambassador Tyler Nordgren (check out his website here) finished the design of a poster that announces the public eclipse event we’re holding at Rosecrans Memorial Airport. The poster incorporates design elements from the airport’s tower and from viewers who will be on site August 21, 2017, to experience the total solar eclipse. The 139th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard is stationed in St. Joseph (its pilots primarily fly C-130 transports), which explains the aircraft theme.
